Once again, it’s time to look into the psyche of my iPod. For those who don’t know, my iPod has split personalities. Sometimes it’s a punk rocker. Sometimes it’s a 50s crooner. Other times it sings the blues. Sometimes it plays songs that are known universally. Other times it plays songs so obscure that people wonder how they worked their way onto the list.
In short, it drives everyone crazy except me. In the past, I have shared some of the song titles to see if they drive you guys crazy, too. Here’s how this works. I put the iPod on random and list the first 20 songs that pop up. Afterwards, maybe you can play Sigmund Freud and help diagnose my iPod’s issues.

Having about 27,000 tracks in my iPod, it truly has a mind of it’s own when I put it in random play. And I have it play tracks I haven’t listened to recently as well so I can cover new ground. I love many styles of music and sometimes what comes out of my iPod is truly inspiring!! And then there are times I can go into my Favorites that I have hand tagged with star ratings. I am always assured of listening to the best of the best when I do that. I have always likened listening to music to searching for buried treasure. Every once and a while you turn up a new gold nugget! Nothing is more enjoyable than finding that “new” music or artist to listen to. Listening is a very personal pastime. And while others may agree or disagree, if you enjoy it that’s all that really matters at the end of the day, although it’s extra great if someone else you know can share in that enjoyment! Amazing how a song can instantly take you years back to an instant in time. I never get tired of listening. (When and if I ever do, just shoot me and get it over with!!) 🙂
I think people should listen to and enjoy all types of music. It’s like anything else in life – the more you experience, the more fulfillment there is. There is nothing worse than someone who hones in on one type of music, or anything else, and refuses to try something new. They may not like it all, but, at least, they made the attempt.
