My iPod Has Issues – Brain Break

If you scroll down the blog, then you will see a recent post looking into the confines of my iPod. Usually, I like to put some time between those sessions. It gives my iPod’s brain a break from the constant analysis. However, there are times when you have to go back in and figure out what is going on.

Besides that, school is about to start, and my brain needs a break. The best way to do that is to crank up the music and see what the iPod chooses.

My iPod Has Issues – The One Before the Interesting One

The past few days have been eventful. Some of it was awesome. Some of it was weird. However, it was all interesting. I will write about all of it in the next post, but, for the moment, I have a hard time keeping the words on the screen in focus.

That is why we are going to look into the iPod to see what is happening. I thought about going with a theme but decided to stick with a true shuffle.

My iPod Has Issues – Western Writer’s Block

There is a post that needs to be written, but I cannot wrap my mind around the thing. It is on an interesting topic that is right in my wheelhouse. Except, I cannot get it started. The right words will not come to me.

Anyway, I have promised myself that I will not write a post of substance until this one is done. That is why I am writing a post of no substance. Hopefully, putting words on the screen will unblock my mind and get this thing rolling.

There are a lot of things going through my mind that I could write about. My opinion on the Confederate flag. Some issues in local politics. The events of everyday life. Heck, I could even give out the Yard Dog Award. However, I am not going to write about any of those things.

I am tired. My brain is tired.

At the moment, the energy does not exist to create a post of any depth. As has been done before, I will take this opportunity to take the easy way out and let my iPod do all of the work.

It is now time to put it on shuffle and listen to what comes out.

My iPod Has Issues – In Honor of a Fallen Friend

I realize that it was just the other day when I put together an iPod post. However, this one is different. Yesterday, a funeral was held for a friend of mine who died way too young. It was an inspiring service, but it was heartbreaking for everyone. His passing is a tragedy that will always be felt by those who knew him.

My iPod has a playlist of songs about God and all things heavenly. Some are spiritual. Some are secular. I share a few of them with you to honor Matt.

My iPod Has Issues – Color Coded

I was listening to one of the stations on Sirius satellite radio and noticed something going on with the songs. They all had green in their title. Eventually, the DJ came on and explained that they were playing songs about colors.

That is when I decided to steal their idea and see what colorful things were going on in my iPod.

I am sitting at the kitchen counter and seeing what is going on in the WordPress world. My wife is sitting in the chair and scrolling through her Facebook feed. My stepdaughter is in her room listening to music. We are all trying to recover from our big meal at one of the local Mexican restaurants.

My iPod Has Issues – We Almost Went to New Orleans

This weekend, we were supposed to take a field trip to New Orleans. However, the forecast called for a bunch of rain and the threat of flooding. Being in a city that is below sea level with the potential of flooding did not appeal to any of the teachers. For that reason, the field trip was cancelled.

To make up for that, I decided to check the old iPod for songs connected to the city New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. Hopefully, there are enough to make a good list.

My iPod Has Issues – All About the Birthday Girl

On Saturday night, we celebrated my stepdaughter’s 13th birthday with a gathering of her friends. We filled them with soft drinks, spaghetti, pizza and one of the coolest birthday cakes I have ever seen.

A few of the girls spent the night, and, according to rumor, they stayed up for most of it. I also hear that they ate more of that cake.

Big fun was had by all, and my wife and I are worn out. In celebration of the big One Three, I am going to dig into my iPod and play a bunch of songs that my stepdaughter has never heard. After all, nothing compares to Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.

My iPod Has Issues – We Are The Trivia Champions

Today, the History Club played Trivial Pursuit. It was students against teachers with the students having about ten people and we teachers only having three. In other words, the students were at a severe disadvantage.

The students streaked out to an early lead, but, by the end, we had pulled ahead and barely won. Some of the students were crushed. Some did not care. I think I can speak for each of the teachers by saying that we were relieved. A loss would have never been lived down.

To celebrate our victory, I decided to dig into the iPod and let it play. After all, it is party time for the history faculty. We were able to pull victory from the jaws of defeat.
